Highfields on Tour
The Germanists are off to Munich on July 21st.

Mrs Andrews (Head of German) is taking 27 students and two staff on a cultural visit to the Bavarian capital.
Highlights include a walking tour of the city so that students understand the history of this fascinating city. This will include the Frauenkirche, Munich’s stunning cathedral and the Rathaus, the town hall with its famous Glockenspiel. There will be museum visits, notably to BMW Welt and the Deutsches Museum, which charts German technological innovations. Gastronomic delights will include Kaffee und Kuchen in a traditional Bavarian café and dinner in a local restaurant. A guided tour of the famous Allianz stadium, Bayern Munich’s home ground, is also a highlight.
Students will also visit the concentration camp at Dachau to understand more about this dark chapter in German history and memorial sites around the city to learn about how Munich remembers its past.
