A Level & GCSE Teacher Assessed Grades update – July 2021

Following the completion of all final assessments in May, teachers worked together to determine holistic grades which best reflected the standards students had attained in each subject.  All Teacher Assessed Grades (TAGs) were quality assured internally, signed off and submitted ahead of the national deadline of 18 June.

We are now in a national external quality assurance process, along with all other exam centres.   This involves one of the exam boards looking at a sample of work from a number of students in a range of subjects.  If validated the overall grades proposed by school will provide fair and honest recognition of the hard work of students, staff and families through the past two years, and in particular through the pandemic.   As in any year there will inevitably be some individual disappointments along with pleasant surprises.

We look forward to giving students their A level results on 10 August 2021 and GCSE results on 12 August 2021 and supporting them in moving on to the next stages of their education.
