We can now confirm that there is a further confirmed case of Covid-19 in year 8. Students in year 8 are already self-isolating and should continue to follow the advice issued. Two of the year 8 students were traveling on the same bus (63 service on Thursday 12.11.20) and we have asked all students who caught the bus to self-isolate from other year groups.
We wanted to tell you how sorry we are that two year groups are having to isolate despite all of our efforts to avoid that happening. We are working hard to stay in touch and to set and mark work (for all students who are currently not in school). Everyone should remember that learning continues. We will offer more updates as we go along and if Mr Marsh finds time he and his cat may just leap into life and record a few birthday messages to keep you all going.
16/11/2020: All Year 8 students now need to self-isolate. They should return to school on Friday 27 November.
When we attempted to trace close contacts it became clear that, due to the specific activities undertaken by the students in question, a very large number had been affected. We have therefore followed advice in isolating the whole of year 8.
We will contact families of those students who have been in particularly close contact with the positive case. These families may wish to take additional safeguards within their household if living with a vulnerable person.
At this time we are prioritising urgent communication. Please refer to resources already shared (website/ newsletter/ letters about Covid) to answer any questions you may have.
We thank you for your support.
