Stomach Bugs
Please could we remind everyone that the normal time for return after suffering from a stomach bug is 48 hours after the last incidence of diarrhoea and/or vomiting. This will help to stop the spread of illness.
Many thanks for your co-operation.

The Government launched the Ofsted School Data Dashboard in March 2013 which provides information for governors and parents on the performance of schools.
The Data Dashboard complements the Ofsted school inspection report by providing a high level summary of school performance over a three-year period. From the Dashboard you can see Highfields School students’ results and progress.

Information Regarding School Closures
In the event of the decision being made not to open school, due to extreme weather or other circumstances, a message will be sent to the local radio stations to broadcast the closure, regular updates will be posted on the school website (remember to regularly ‘refresh’ the page to view the latest information) and the ParentMail service will be used to text parents/carers who have provided their contact details.
More information is available in the document below:

Could your child be eligible for free school meals?
In these difficult financial times, we want to make sure you're getting all the help you're due.
A lot of people don't claim free school meals even though they're entitled. That's why Derbyshire County Council have launched a campaign, to encourage people to check if they're eligible.
You don't need to worry about other children knowing your child gets free school meals. Only the school and catering staff will know.
You could save £400 a year for each child and your children could benefit from a good hot meal at lunchtime.
If you get any of these benefits, you could be eligible:
- Income Support
- Income-based Jobseeker's Allowance or an Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
- The guarantee element of State Pension Credit
- Support under part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
- Child Tax Credit (with an annual income of less that £16,190).
You will not be eligible if you are claiming Working Tax Credit.
If any of the above criteria apply to you, please complete the application form and return to Derbyshire County Council as quickly as possible, together with evidence of your benefit.
Or visit www.derbyshire.gov.uk/freeschoolmeals and fill in the online form.

Parentmail
Since September 2009, we have used a service called ParentMail which enables us to send letters and messages direct to parents/carers by email for general school correspondence and text for urgent messages - this facility was especially useful when communicating the school closures at the end of last year via text message.
ParentMail will be beneficial to you because:
• Messages will get to you reliably
• We can send messages directly to more than one nominated contact at the same time
• You will quickly know about important or urgent messages
• We can tell you more about what’s going on at the school
ParentMail have developed a brand new service to help schools manage parent payments and also allow parents to pay online. This new service called +Pay creates automated payment reminder for parents by email, reducing our administrative workload. Please be reassured that +Pay operates using a financial infrastructure provided by Barclays Bank and meets the highest levels of Card Security (PCI-Payment Card Industry) standards. However, the facility remains in school to accommodate parents who prefer to pay by cheque or cash.
To use ParentMail® we need to collect your email addresses and mobile numbers and we would ask you to complete the downloadable form and return it to the main school office.
Please be assured that ParentMail® is registered with the Data Protection Registrar and guarantees that all information you provide will be kept private and will not be passed on to any other organisation.
Important
When we start using ParentMail, email messages will be sent from messages@parentmail.co.uk. Please add this address to your email address books (or approved sender list) to prevent messages from being blocked by your SPAM/JUNK filters.
