Headteacher's Message

Highfields strives to be a positive, disciplined, caring and aspirational school community. We believe in the importance of all aspects of education and we measure success in the many and varied achievements of all our youngsters. We strive to ensure we provide the extended opportunities, support, care and guidance necessary to make Highfields an all round experience for our students. We pride ourselves on our inclusive nature, knowing our students well and on fostering strong relationships with home and the wider community.

Governors

The role of the Governors is to help the school provide the best possible education for students by:

• Setting the school’s values, vision and strategic aims, agreeing plans and policies, and making creative use of resources

• Monitoring and evaluating performance, acting as a critical friend to the Headteacher to support and challenge them in managing the school

• Ensuring that the school is accountable to the children and parents it serves, to its local community, to those who fund and maintain it, as well as to the staff it employs.

The Governing Body can consist of a maximum of 17 Governors, split as follows, each with a term of office of four years:
• Parent Governors
• 3 LA Governors
• 3 Staff Governors
• 3 Community Governors
• 2 Sponsor Governor
